CTN TORAH MINUTE

Hi,

Rosh Hashanah is around the corner!

And if you’re anything like me?

You may still remember last Rosh Hashanah.  Because I do.

I stood in Synagogue and told G-d, “I know You heard this last year.

How this year I’m going to be different.  Going to be better.

And it’s going to be a new Moshe Katz!”

… Well it didn’t quiet work out as planned.

I’m still the same Moshe Katz!

But I’m going to speak to G-d again this Rosh Hashanah.

Going to ask Him to have one thing.

Patience!

Because this year will really be different.

… Its something we should think about.
Do we have a right to ask G-d for patience?

It depends.

On how we deal with other people.

Are we patient with them?

Then we can ask G-d to be patient with us.

But if we don’t have patience with other people?

If we’re always losing it.  Flying off the handle?

We have a pretty weak case!

… I thought about this a few years ago.  On the day before Rosh Hashanah.

I was waiting on line in the bakery for the special round challas.

The bakery was much more crowded than usual.

It was a hectic day.  People had to go to work.

And the lines were long.

People started getting very edgy.  Started losing it.

And I thought to myself.

Have patience!

… Those of you that I have never met?

You probably know what’s coming next!

I’ve told you how much I would love to meet you.  I’ve tried everything.

From exciting programs to great food!

I haven’t lost my patience!

But how about a Mitzvah before Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?

Make the holidays special and make a Rabbi happy!

And if we have met?

I would love to see you again!

All the best,
