CTN TORAH MINUTE

Posted by rabbi.deutsch on 24 Sep 2012 / 0 Comment

Hope you’re having a great day.

You hear alot of talk these days about car brakes.

… A driver gets pulled over by a policeman.

“Didn’t you see that stop sign?  You went right through it!”

The driver thinks quickly and says,

“You know officer, sometimes those Toyota brakes just fail.”

“Nice try buddy, but you’re not driving a Toyota!”

“I know officer.  But the guy behind me was.

And I wasn’t sure he would stop!”

… I think we can use all the talk about brakes as a reminder.

As I said recently?

G-d created the world.  And at Mount Sinai?

He gave the Jewish People the keys and told us…

“You’re driving!”

And we need to constantly check our “brakes”.

Are we stopping when we should?

For example.

Did we see that person who needed our help?  Our time?  Or our smile?

Did we stop?

Or did our “brakes” fail?

And we passed right by!

Did we notice that person who was hurt by what we said?

And did we stop and apologize?

Or did we go right on talking?

… We need to ask ourselves…

“How am I driving?”
