CTN TORAH MINUTE

Posted by rabbi.deutsch on 24 Sep 2012 / 0 Comment

Hi,

“Toulous, France”.

There is probably no Jew in the world that doesn’t recognize it.

And we all share the pain of the French Jewish community.

We can’t imagine how Chava Sandler can go on with life.

How she can survive the murder of her husband and two sons, ages 3 and 6.

And we wish that there was something we could do to help her.

Something that will give her strength.

… There is!

I wanted to share parts of her message to Jews all over the world.

We can only stand in awe of her.  And try to do what she asks of us.

“My heart is broken.  I am unable to speak… there is no way to express…

The all consuming pain from the murder of my dear Yonatan and Aryeh and Gavriel.

My husband’s life was dedicated to teaching Torah…he was giving and selfless.

He was sensitive to all of G-d’s creatures…

Always searching for ways to reveal goodness in others…

Yonatan and I raised Aryeh and Gavriel to live the ways of the Torah…

Who would have known how short would be their time on this Earth?”

Chava’s message to those who have asked how to bring consolation to the family?

And how to bring elevation to the souls of those killed?

“Let’s continue their lives on this Earth!”

“Parents, please kiss your children.  Tell them how much you love them…

And how dear it is to your heart that they become living examples of our Torah…

Imbued with the fear of heaven and love of their fellow man…”

And she continues.

“Please increase your study of Torah, on your own or with family and friends.

Bring more light into the world by kindling Shabbos candles this and every Friday.

The spirit of the Jewish People can never be extinguished.

Its connection with Torah and its commandments can never be destroyed.

I send my condolences to the Monsonego family for the loss of their daughter Miriam.

And I pray for the recovery of Aharon ben Leah, who was injured in the attack.

Thank you for your support and love.”

… I was very moved by the words of this incredible woman!

I’m sure you were too!

And I would like to ask you to join me in honoring Chava’s requests.

We can begin by giving extra kisses to the children in our lives.

And, in our own way, conveying her message to them.

If we already light Shabbos candles?

We can try to make it more special.

If we don’t?

What a wonderful time to start!

The candles should be lit before sundown on Friday.

And finally?

Chava asked, “Please increase your study of Torah”.

I invite you to take her up on that request in a very special way ny coming to a CTN class.

I’m dedicating a special evening to honor the request of Chava Sandler.

… Do it for Chava and do it for yourself!

Hope to see you there!
