CTN TORAH MINUTE

Posted by rabbi.deutsch on 08 Aug 2012 / 0 Comment

Hi,
I wanted to talk to you about something very serious.
Purim!
… There’s something that really bothers me.
Most Jews relate in some way to Yom Kippur.
They probably go to services. Fast all day. And may even review all their sins!
No. That’s not what bothers me!
It’s that so many Jews don’t celebrate Purim.
And that’s a real shame!
I think that if you did Yom Kippur?
You have to do Purim!
Fasting is important. And praying is important.
But we need to celebrate being Jewish. To celebrate the miracle of Jewish survival.
And to express our love for all Jews.
… At the CTN Purim celebration?
You can do all that and also have fun!
And here’s how.
Besides a beautiful reading of the Megillah (Purim story) by Rabbi Deutsch?
I will be sharing Purim Torah Minutes!
A short intro to the Purim story. And nuggets of inspiration before each chapter.
So if you enjoy the Torah Minute?
You’ll appreciate the Megillah like never before.
… And besides having inspiration and celebrating being Jewish?
You will laugh like crazy! Guaranteed!
While you watch a short comedy video of one of the funniest people alive!
Comedian Mark Schiff.
… And last but not least?
It wouldn’t be a Jewish celebration without it.
(I once mentioned to a taxi driver that I was at a wedding the night before.
His response?
“Oh did you get plastered”?
Obviously, he doesn’t know too many Jews!
Because Jews don’t get plastered at weddings. They get heartburn!
(They like to eat)!
So it goes without saying. There will be great food!
… And here’s a little Jewish guilt as well.
If you don’t come?
I will think you don’t enjoy the Torah Minute!
Reservations are necessary. So please go to http://torahnetwork.org/purim.htm.
All the best,
Moshe
