CTN TORAH MINUTE

Posted by rabbi.deutsch on 24 Sep 2012 / 0 Comment

Hi –

Hope you’re having a great day.

… There’s something we don’t think about that often.

But we probably did yesterday.

Wind.

Because most of us were hit by a storm with extremely high winds.

And many people even lost their electricity.

But the truth is there’s wind every day.

And we should think about it more than we do.

A good time to think about it?

The next time we have a glass of water!

Because, what’s the history of the water we drink?

It starts off in the ocean.  But we can’t drink it.

It’s full of salt!

And what did G-d do.

“Don’t worry.  I’ll take care of it”!

And he makes the sun.

Ninety three million miles away!

The sun shines on the ocean.  And the water starts evaporating.

The water becomes vapor and it rises, leaving the salt behind.

It forms clouds.

And it rains.

And we have delicious sweet water!

… But it’s not so simple.

There might have been a real problem here.

The impact the sun has on the ocean is definitely impressive.

But when the vapor rises and forms clouds?

Why doesn’t it rain right back into the ocean?

And if that happened?

We would not only be very thirsty.

We would not be alive!

… It’s because G-d said one more thing.

Don’t worry.  I’ll take care of it”!

And he made the wind.

The wind carries the clouds away from the ocean.

The clouds drop rain in the right places.

That’s why we have delicious water to drink.

And that’s why we’re alive!

So let’s really appreciate our next glass of water!

All the best,
